Insurance should cover diapers

First and foremost, I'm thankful that I was able to walk away from this terrible accident and I greatly appreciate your support and kind comments.

But the dust has started the settle and now I'm in the great stage of annoyance.  Yes, all material things can be replaced, but it's still crummy having to deal with a post-accident hassle:
  • Rental cars stink. Literally and figuratively.
  • I now need to buy a new car.  I was thoroughly enjoying not having a car payment, but now that little dream is dashed.
  • I had both car seats in my car which needed immediate replacement.
  • I had just general "stuff" in my car that is now toast and/or missing, such as paperwork, bluetooth, car chargers, etc.
And the real kicker (moms will understand this one):
  • There was a new box of diapers in the cargo area that was obliterated in the collision.  And I'm talking the JUMBO box of diapers.  Grr.

I am so happy that you are alright BUT completely understand your frustrations especially the diapers!!

Make them cover your butt, okay, not yours, but your kid's...and yours :)

Yeah, that would all stink! My fear is the car payment thing. . .I love not having one, and that would ruin my day to have to have one again :( Hang in there!

Wow! Glad you are ok and I can definitely understand the frustrations. My husband totaled our brand new 3 month old car earlier this year and it took several trips to the junk yard to salvage items inside the car, etc. Fortunately we don't have kids, so we don't have the car seat frustration yet, but I can imagine it's no fun. Good luck!

how frustrating. Shopping for a new car sounds fun...but not having to replace ALL the other stuff. Ugh!
I totally feel you on the diapers!

I will tell you from experience that the diapers WILL be covered. I have "smaller" material things get destroyed in my accident and they were all replaced. Man, a jumbo box...sigh. I know it stinks, but you will get through all of it.

Just consider the fact that if the diapers were between you and the other diaper, that was added insulation to your being hit.
My daughter went through the same thing last spring when a car ran a red light and hit her head on. Luckily, she was driving a Hummer at that time. It suffered damage, but she didn't. Still had to get a rental, and never did find a new hood. Plus she had a witness which really helped. I feel for you, but glad you are safe.

It's pretty sad that you have to do all the running around, what a nightmare. The diapers were just the icing on the cupcake ;)
Hang in there friend!

I vowed if I were ever in an accident again I wasn't going to get pushed over by the insurance company. They don't call it pain and suffering for no reason. Loosing a jumbo pack of diapers and having to go through all that mess IS pain and suffering. Good luck.
