DIY teacher gifts: personalized pencil jars

Kindergarten begins next week for little Miss Wavey.  With the glass etching cream I used the other day, I personalized $1.00 glass jars and stuffed about $4.00 worth of colored pencils in each, tied a ribbon around them, and presto: instant, inexpensive DIY teacher gifts.

If you have doubts about glass etching, please know that it's about as easy as smearing toothpaste on a stencil.  I mean it!

Ok...I'm totally reading your blog at work today. I know shame on me! Just taking a happy break! When I saw this project I went "Oh my gosh, that is so cute!" A teacher sitting by me had to come over and see what I was looking at! We all agree that we would love to receive this as a gift!

You have inspired me to give it a try! :D

I was never super impressed by glass etching...until I saw your stuff, of course!!! I was out of town this weekend with some girlfriends, in a small lake town in Missouri, and we tried REALLY hard to find etching cream. No luck, but it is on my list of things to track down this week. Love the scalloped circle. You are a genius.
