Do the math, it's 96 cookies

This year's family cookie exchange will require participants to bring eight dozen cookies.  As most exchanges go, you take home an equivalent assortment of what you've brought.  96 cookies out, 96 cookies in. 

I don't know if our doctors will approve the family consumption of 96 cookies, but we'll manage.  And for the exchange, I'm leaning toward a holiday spice cookie recipe because I {heart} cinnamon.

On the lam: personalized luggage & bag tags

I made the leap and decided to try out making personalized laminated luggage & bag tags using some of my Good Gravy! stationery designs. 

The result: success! 

 

Above are a few tags intended for gifts to a dear friend's children, but I'm excited to share how they turned out so I'm okay revealing the surprise early.  These would be great on a backpack or a lunch bag.

And while I was traveling to Vegas with my friend Beth, the airline killed damaged her existing luggage tag so I figured she could use a new one.

I'm considering adding these to the shop soon, but until then, feel free to contact me if you're interested in having your very own tags sooner!

In the basement of the Alamo

I was really hoping to share my completion of the refinished chair this week, but that would have required me to, oh, have completed it. 

So until my yellow/gray chair is done, check out this little embellishment I purchased from Mandy's Yellow Corner.  It will look fabulous on a gray sweater, wouldn't you agree?

A while back, I mentioned the craftiness of Mandy (um, this girl can whip up a dress - a DRESS! - out of thin air.  I'm lucky if I can whip up a piece of toast half the time).

This past weekend was rather uneventful - a rare occurrence here at the homestead, but a welcome one.  The quiet gave me the chance to finally introduce a new series of new custom wrap around address labels in the shop. 

I really like this style where the return address wraps around the left of an envelope, leaving the front with a pretty design to write in your addressee.  A little funky, purposely off-center, and yet perfectly dresses up your correspondence.

It is also with great pleasure to welcome several designs from artist Julia Mann of Houston, Texas.  Her unique style is a perfect fit in the Good Gravy family of stationery and her images can be found in both our flat note cards and holiday sections.

Happy birthday...to us!

Okay, so maybe our first birthday was officially in September...but who's counting?  Clearly, not us.  We've been so very busy creating new and exciting products for the shop which is set to debut...ready?...ready?  ON MONDAY!  We're talking holiday cards, address labels, new note card designs, guest artists and more! 

We'd like to take a moment to express our sincerest gratitude to our loyal clients, friends and family whose extreme support, feedback and love we couldn't function without.  And a special shout-out goes out to our mail carrier who through sun, rain, sleet and snow has graciously hiked up our brutally long driveway (especially in the winter!) exclusively to pick-up package after package as we've sent the gravy goodness nationwide.
