It must be painful to be you - being the smartest man on the planet - and having to deal with peons like me who drop their beloved mobile phones in parking lots.
Clearly, your special telepathic powers allowed you to tap into the worldwide resources of cellular devices without checking if anyone carried what I need in the 3,000 mile radius of where we stood prior to you blurting out, "I can't help you."
So, I bowed to your genius and left the store, waited for your donut break, and then returned to ask your colleague who was, not surprisingly, more helpful than you.
I retract the donut joke because that's not nice. You were probably out curing cancer with your phenomenal brain instead.
Hugs and kisses,

Haha, Lelan, you make me laugh pretty much every day :D I have an HTC Evo and fell running with mine several months ago (yeah, I know), and nothing happened to the phone but I tore tendons and then some. A month after that incident I dropped the phone 2 feet when trying to set it on the coffee table, and I jacked up the pixels! Thankfully Sprint took care of it, but what the heck?! I really have no idea what the point of my story was, but you have a great day ;D
Oh my gosh! I could learn from your calm + cool way of handling this. Noted to self!
Oh Lelan, that's a bummer! I'm glad the 2nd guy was much more helpful. :)
Have a great day!
Glad you got this worked out. I was just having a discussion with my husband about the lack of customer service in that industry. What is that about!? Glad the 2nd guy was better.
hahah. Thank you for the laugh on this cold, allergy ridden, late to work day :)
ah you make me laugh! sorry about your phone tho ;(
Haha, I'd have totally blown my cool and chewed the cancer-treating genius out. Your way is better ;]
Okay...hilarious! Well, not that you broke your phone...or that the guy was rude to you...but how you handled it was very funny. :) Hope you get a new phone soon! :)

This is my favorite post of yours, ever! I too had a terrible experience with a "genius". The particular genius - who unfortunately was also the store manager - almost cost me hundreds of dollars unneccessarily. Instead I called the company's 800 number and got help from a different person who was much more polite and managed to solve my problem and save me hundreds of dollars, and stop me from calling their company "Crapple!" Lesson learned - when a lousy "genius" gives you bad news, get a 2nd opinion ;)
Glad you cleared things up. I thought you might have smashed your phone on genius's head :)
AND this is a reason why I will remain without a smart phone. I am not smart enough not to destroy it.
Hahaha. That. Was. Awesome. I'm so sorry for your sad, broken phone.
oh no. i know a "genius" and he tells me stories all the time. your genius obviously didn't know how to work the "system" so he/she just said "no." I love that you didn't take no for an answer.
:)gina
Haha, you make me laugh! :) Sorry about your phone...I would have been less calm than you...
Lol! The worst (in my opinion) is when you ask an employee where such and such is. And they ask what it is. You explain. They immediately say "oh no, we don't have that." ... *crickets* ... "do you know that you don't have it? Because 2 minutes ago you didn't even know what it was..."
Time to get the 4 G baby!!
bummer. i hope you were able to fix it or get a new one!
Sigh...customer service people. Is it so hard. I'm sorry about your phone...I see the pavement won.
Oh no! I've done that before. :( I have a cover on mine now! I drop mine all the time!
182 unread emails Lelan? Please....
I thought for sure you going to say that you returned when his SUPERVISOR was on duty! Can I just say that I love that you take pictures of all your little mishaps in order to share? Unfortunately, I never find that I can compose myself enough when stuff like that happens to me. (New Year's Resolution 2011: Compose myself in moments of fail or win & always have a camera on hand.)
