With the great help of my husband, the chair was meticulously sanded and primed:
Just one spray can of gray did the trick, but we were really cutting it close:
So, now I have to deal with the hard part: fashioning a cushioned seat. I've reupholstered a seat before so I'm pretty sure I can do it again (just how well is the real question). But onto more important worries, like whether or not the seat will use the reversable fabric below with yellow on gray or gray on yellow:
Any suggestions?

Oh gosh, that's a hard choice. They're both really cute, but I think I like the yellow on grey best! :)
they are both so pretty, that is a hard one for me. and where oh where did you find it...i LOVE it! i don't have any yellow or gray in my house, so it would go no where.
but, i love it!
gray on yellow. Since the chair is gray, the yellow will provide more contrast to the chair, and the gray chair will bring out the gray on the yellow.
I love the yellow and the gray!

I think the yellow pops better on the yellow on gray and since the chair is gray... that's my choice - looking fabulous!
