Say "cheese"

I knew it was only a matter of time, and my 23-year streak of avoiding it came to a crashing end this weekend.

After years of multiple excuses and turning many-a-blind eye to invitation after invitation, I finally succumbed to attending a place that screams to me: parental hell.  Without naming names, let's just say that I went to a national pizza restaurant/child arcade that rhymes with "Yuck E. Sneezes."

A really great friend's daughter was having her party there and I wanted to join in the celebration which is why I opted in, kids and husband in tow.

Granted, the party itself was fine and the establishment wasn't as bad as I had made it out to be in my head, but the last time my husband went with Wavey, he got clocked in the head with an errant skee-ball so I was on the lookout for wiley, unsupervised children as well as making sure that Griffin didn't lick any whack-a-mole sticks.

This photo captures one of my favorite moments of the day.  A random little girl ran in front of Wav's car while it was in motion and was taunting Wav to "run her over."  Obviously, that was impossible as the car only jolted side-to-side, but the look of determination in Wav's eyes to get the mocking-girl out out of her face could have seered through the plexiglass.
